PGB Finacial Inclusion Initiatives:

 

PGB Mission for Financial Inclusion project

To attain the position of a common man’s bank in the State

by providing door step banking services through ICT based model &

providing a bank account to every house hold / person

in allocated villages of our area of operation.

Spreading Financial Literacy

Arranged 218 special FI workshops in all the SA villages during 2013-14 for spreading financial literacy amongst the people of the area. These workshops were arranged under grant assistance from NABARD.

Arranged 135 FI workshops in a cluster of SA villages covering all the branches, during 2014 - 15. These workshops were arranged under grant assistance from NABARD. Specially designed banners, pamphlets, folders on various deposits & loan schemes, study material etc. were displayed / distributed among rural masses.

 

4952 SHGs formed by the Bank, have also added the efforts in spreading financial literacy.

Opened 22 new branches during 2013-14 and 24 new branches during 2014-15, enaged CSCs as our BCAs for 52 locations. Appointed 31 BCAs at 31 locations, through Genpact (India) as Corporate BC.

 

Regular compaigns launched for taking rural poors in our fold. Covered almost all the families in the Service area villages by opening of account. We opened 388957 lacs Basic banking Accounts and issued 20680 GCCs.

 

Finacial Literacy Centers

We have opened 6 FLCs at Kapurthala, Firoapur, Gurdaspur, Mohali, Jalandhar & Rupnagar, for provding financial advices to the people and have planned to open two more FLCs at Hoshiarpur and Amritsar.
       
 

 

Introduced Micro Insurance

    Insurance needs of the customers are also considered equally important and accordingly, introduced ‘Micro Insurance’ products under tie up arrangement with ‘Bharti AXA’ and Bajaj Allianz’. Our service area village ‘SILL’ has been fully covered under the ‘Micro Insurance’ as all the families of this village have been covered under the ‘Micro Insurance’, - a step ahead towards financial deepening. Similar process to be initiated for the other villages one by one.
      Cash NEFT facility has also been introduced
